Sewphisticuts Annual Sewing Room Tour

Pat in her sewing room
The Sewphisticuts went touring this week, as they do every year, to a member's house for a pot-luck meal and a glimpse of someone's sewing space.  This year Pat M. was our hostess in Poughkeepsie.  Once again our group proved that their creativity is not limited to fabric!  We enjoyed delicious food in a beautifully decorated dining room before moving on to
see Pat's sewing room.  Once upon a time it was her son's bedroom;  now she has claimed the room for herself.   It's still a work in progress as she decides on window treatments and is mulling over expanding her cutting table.

After the tour we shared some show-and-tell (pictures below) and got to a little business as well.  The main discussion focused on Make-A-Difference-Day, with the group deciding to make pajama pants in adult sizes for donation to shelters or Hudson River Housing.

Although this group doesn't meet in August, there will be lots of opportunities to see one another at all the various workshops between now and September.  Check other posts in this blog for details and watch your email for notifications and registration for these events.

In the meantime, have a happy sewing summer!
